Potassium iodine precipitation.

This is one of the reactions we have studied today in the lab.

Two transparent solutions of lead(II) nitrate and potassium iodine react to form potassium nitrate and lead(II) iodide which is a yellow unsolvable substance. It is a double displacement reaction. Cations lead(II) and potassium swap their anions nitrate and iodide.
